Hi, I have a 1390t that's suddenly taking a long time to start up, load maps and caculate routes and sometimes with no voice guidance. Has any one had a similar problem at all and if so is there a fix for it or is it a factory return job ? thanks in advance, Mark.

I suggest you backup your GPS and perform a hard reset.

If you have very large POI installed to your Garmin I think that will slow your set as well. I got rid of many unwanted stuff. Now its faster as it was used to.

True!
Avoid using RAM-wasting tourguide files...
Also, how often do you go to AK or Canada? I use only my local and state POIs and if works fine...

It happend to me when an extra SD card was pluged in. As soon as I removed the card the system booted much faster.

Looks like the reset has fixed the problem but I will see how it goes over the next few days. So far so good, thank you Smile

For voices try updating firmware. Calculating routes can depend on many things one of which is moving location once the gps is turned off. It then has to find satellites again. For loading time if your running stuff on the sd card try removing sd card and loading again if this is quicker then there is too much info on the sd card try removing some. If you not using sd card back up the gps and use only original stuff then you'll know... You can always put it back on there or on sd card.

I have a 1490T which I believe is similar. Mine was acting like yours.
I pulled the sd card but that did not seem to help. I did a factory reset and the unit is just like new.
Cheers
