Another newbie with a Garmin nuvi 3590LMT     
I downloaded and tried to install speed camera and red light camera files for France, Spain, Belgium and Switzerland T but when I tried to install them on my Nuvi 3590LM with POI loader I get this message during the installation process:

There is a data format error on line 2 of file /Users/XXXXXXXX/Desktop/Custom POI's/Road safety Belgium/Mobile_Speed_Camera-BE.gpx. The data earlier in the file will be written, but no more data can be read from this file.

I get this message on all the speed and red light camera files for all the countries I've tried to install so far. I have tried loading the files several times and in both formats without success...always the same message. Can someone help please.

3590LMT and speed camera POI's.     
Don't know if this helps but I'm using POI loader on a Mac to load the files onto my GPS device.

errors whilst loading     
I have had the same errors on a 765t Garmin Nuvi and experimented and found that if there were too many POI's in the same sub directory I received that error.
I just made separate sub directories for the POI's (for each catagory) and all has been ok since.

Could be just luck that it solved my problem, but worth a try.

Thanks for your response Johnmazz2006 but unfortunately downloading even single files (single safety camera POI points) did not solve my problem nor did it make any difference as far as I can see.

Andrew just tested that GPX file. It works well... What happens when you use CSV files?

just checked again, the .csv files seem to work fine. I don't understand what's happening because when I originally tried this both the .csv and .gpx files did not work properly.

POI downloader     
Hi The Garmin POI Loader will not save any csv or gpx files to my PC as it says there must be at least one file with a gpx or csv suffix in that folder? Any ideas what to do? ta Chris

Why are you using POI Loader to save files to the PC ?
POI Loader is used to load files to the GPS, but you just save downloaded POI files to a directory on the PC.

There is a problem with loading the latest map update to BaseMap or Mapsource which Garmin are attempting to fix. Haven't heard any more back from then for a couple of weeks apart from acknowledging the problem..
