I have a 760 with teh lug in traffic, had it now for about 6 months.
In short the traffic add on is utter crap and not worth $1 let alone the $120 tha I paid for.
Why is this so.
Well I have for the dame period travelled across Brisbane each morning and afternoon ( live one side and work on the other).
I use different routes.
THis traffic tells me " traffic ahead, shows the red on the screen and the raod is empty.
And I see a lot of the green logo ( no traffic indicator) and I am completly gridlocked.
This is not once, but on many, many occasions.
My wife works in the department of transport and tells me that there is not a lot of traffic live feeds, and she questios the accuracy from a technical perspective.
So what so I do, well I phone 131940 every day to get the traffic report from the Brisbane traffic centre, this is very accurate and costs a phone call.
So the questions are, where do these guy's get their information from, why is it so inaccurate and why is it not properly updated.
Anyone in authority prepared to offer comment.
I certainly do not recommend this add on to anyone, and would not wast the cash again.
Have heard of the same complaints in Melbourne, glad I didn't waste the money getting the "traffic alert".
Seems like it is early days for this type of thing in Aust.
By the way, traffic alerts ARE NOT supplied by Garmin.

I also have the Garmin 760 and purchased the Traffic cable.
I used it in Melbourne recently and it was good in telling me that there was congestion ahead. It suggested an alternative route, which I believe took longer.
Used it in Brisbane and it was nice to know there were delays ahead, but it was on the airport road where there are no alternative routes.
I still have not had any alerts in Canberra.
Being the optimist I am, I can only hope this technology improves with time. Hmmm??
My experience in Brisbane since purchasing a Nuvi 1490 in 2010 has been similar. I believe that the system works, but the data being fed to SUNA may be the problem. Over time, I suspect this should improve.
I have found that it works, but rarely with enough detail to be useful.
The old antenna died about 12 months ago, so I didn't bother replacing it.
Am glad to find the new Nuvi 3597 which I have upgraded to now includes the antenna (for no extra cost) so will be happy to give it another go.
On a recent trip to Brisbane with a older Nuvi260 I did not see this issue at all. Living in Melbourne I have not had a problem with the traffic updates either. Perhaps an email to Garmin support may be in order.
