The kids would be usefully amused if they could use the navman in the back of the car.

But, of course, as soon as it is away from the windscreen it loses the signal and dies.

But I did read somewhere, I think, something about it using the power cord as an arial.

This makes me think maybe there's a chance one can get an extension cord/arial that will allow it be used in back?

Most GPS units have an external aerial that can be purchased. Think they have a magnetic base for sitting it on the roof..
