Hope someone can help. I use a 512mb sd card and now it is not recognised by my Garmin Nuvi 250w. Same card I have been using a while with no problems. Wotks fine in the computer , i have even formatted again.
Any ideas anyone.
PS no other sd card will work in it either
Regards
Is it in FAT or FAT32 format? ...if it was ever reformatted in another language, then the device may not pick it up as a drive.
Plus, you might want to check hardware components and connection problems. If your computer can't recognize your GPS and SD card together, than it might be a faulty USB cord.
Hi Guys, Tried the rubber trick, but still no luck. I can copy pics and the POI file to the sd card from the computer no problems. When i put it in the Garmin it will read the PICS but still wont read the updated POI files. It always did. I can load them directly using the usb cord, but as i have 2 garmins its easier to load it on a SD card and them just pop them in.. I am confused on this one..
Try this.. connect your sat nav via the usb cable to your pc. Then once the device is seen in 'my computor under drive 'x' (this is the one seen higher than the letter shown in the Garmin logo) ie if Garmin is shown as say F .. the your SD card is G. Once you have opened drive G you create a folder called 'poi' and load your data into this folder (poi).. hey presto your sat nav will read the SD card as it recognises this folder as one of it's own standard folders. This works in my Nuvi 200W.
Ps. format your card to FAT32 first before using it.
