Tom Tom IQ Routes Edition Freezing up after Firmware Upgrade
One of my Tom Tom One IQ Routes edition GPS's after a firmware upgrade that took for ever would no longer start up.
When turned ON it would show Tom Tom Logo then IQ Routes would appear along the top of the screen and then the Tom Tom logo would come back and after a while the you hear a click and the Tom Tom Logo became brighter and then it would seem go back to the start again and just keep going around in the sequence loop.
If I connected it to PC it would recognise the GPS and do updates etc, but when diconnected it would simply keep repeating the sequence mentioned above. I tried the GPS reset by holding down the Power Button that would turn it off and if held long enough restart the GPS, but only in that sequence loop. I connected it to PC and then via Explore File Manager selected the Tom Tom Hard Drive and selected properties and then tools and carried out a test of the drive for errors with both boxes ticked to correct errors. This process takes a little while, I had no windows message to say any errors were found and fixed, but when I disconnected the GPS after the check errors was complete the Tom Tom One IQ would boot up normaly again. I then carried out map updates etc and I am happy to report that this process did not stuff the GPS up, it still loads up and works.
Did you try to contact the support of tomtom to report that issue? Because, maybe is something that is happening to other people too and if dont can be something wrong on your gps (maybe one problem data) and maybe they can help with something, maybe an update or if you are in warranty they can change your gps card.
I do believe that people when have problems with something we should always report to the support, but its just my opinion.
