Centrelink Launceston - Student allowances and assistance
My son has been attempting to submit a claim for rental assistance and student allowance over six face to face meetings at Centrelink in Launceston, and a number of phone calls, The advice has ranged from not being eligible, to being eligible, and filling in a different form each time because "you used the wrong form last time". The latest attempt was rejected because his tax file was not included. Completed the form again, with Tax file number included. Went back to Centrelink to be told that those claims were not processed there (despite 5 previous visits when they were), being put on a phone with a 2 hour waiting queue. Whats the story with Centrelink? Is there any staff training provided? Do the staff give a damn about their clients? How can it be six visits and over 12 months and still no progress? Utter, utter incompetence. Appalling service. A quagmire of unfathomable paperwork. No interest in assisting students to access what they are entitled to, and desperately need.
