It is not under My Places - this is the sequence:-
SETTINGS
ROUTE OPTIONS
MY PLACE ALERTS
In this window I have 26 settings most repeated 4 times !!
eg. Speed camera,Mobile Speed camera, Redlight Camera Accident Black Spot etc etc.
I do not think you can, I brought mine off the shelf and it had been used I think (the last on special)and it had places I had never been to in the same setting, I think it is just something stored, the best bet would be to contact Navman direct...
Good luck
I think they are left-overs from previous upgrades even though I deleted prior maps before upgrading.
I had a look at the files in the Navman 55T (not via Navman software), directly connected to computer, to see if I could find the file or folder used for My Place Alerts. No 'joy' but they must be there somewhere.
Where is Navman Support ? Customers still having problems but no real assistance but one attempt and then silence.............
Shows why I and others changed to Garmin..
Yes, Johna, can't understand the incompetency of the Navman technical staff.
I have been using Navman products for about 6 years and although the product is OK the technical back-up is deplorable. They don't seem to have any more technical knowledge of their products than I have.
An example is my recent problem listed above. They can't seem to equate my problem . I agree with you - we need to change brands and voice our disapproval of the Navman service and maybe the Navman manufacturers may listen and employ some quality staff.
Can you try reinstalling the Navman software please? To do this, insert the original Navman DVD that came with your unit, connect the unit up to your computer, open navdesk, go to My Navman > Reinstall Software (DVD must be inserted at this stage).
My observation is that every time I download a map update, even though I remove the already installed map, I get another group of My Place Alerts.
Therefore, these are left over after every removal of maps and there must be a file or folder somewhere where they can be deleted.
Just tell me where and I will no doubt fix the problem !!
I am registered(!!)
Attention 'Navman Support' just read the links and as the expert of the product you sell give me an answer and solution to my problem.
I suspect the new updates are the issue but I am only a simple consumer and expect the manufacturer to be conversant support their products.
Happy to see that Navman are trying to assist users on the forum, and hope they also try to get the business back online and get a better customer support service.
I may even get another Navman in the future if the product support improves greatly.
"Eureka" at long last a solution to my problem, and no doubt to other Navman MY series users.
You just have to keep pushing these manufacturers .
Service is not what it used to be. It is a shame the Navman products are condemmed because of poor backup they on the whole very good GPS's
