Navdesk installation problems

After trying for several hours wasted trying to follow the instructions on installing a map download I have come to the conclusion that the navdesk software is a load of rubbish. No support after hours and no reply from an earlier enquiry what a joke "support" is. Can anyone help with how to get navdesk to work. I have tried it on windows 7 and xp with no luck

Re: Navdesk installation

If I remember correctly there is an issue with Navdesk and 64-bit OS. What is the software not doing - not detecting gps, seeing latest update etc? A little more info would be good and then I'd be happy to assist.

Hi Malangell
if you have the latest Navdesk 7.5 it seems ok with my system win 7 64 home prem and on 7 64 pro try reinstalling or try if you have 7.3 they both seem to work, uninstall old first

NAVDESK 7.5

I have been using NAVMAN MY300LMT for several years and generally happy and use it for work all the time. Updating maps is usually OK but I have a problem as I use a work computer and it keeps asking for administrator login just to use the app. That was OK until there was a global company ban on installing software. Again not a problem but NAVDESK needs admin rights just to run. Anyone find the same?

I am having the same issue as Malangell - I have downloaded NavDesk 7.50 on my desktop, have downloaded the updated maps on my HP ultrabook with Windows 8 and am becoming frustrated as like Malangell I too have wasted a few hours trying to install maps and find that NavDest 7.50 is not registering that my Navman is connected or something and I can't get the maps to become updated on My-500xt Navman. Please help!! I had some rude technical support officer from Manilla trying to guide via telecon, however spoke in a condescending voice and I became frustrated with him and hung up - KittyCat

I had the same issue with my Cruise550MT Navman not being recognized by my laptop, after a few frustrating hrs we plugged a USB3 hub (with the navman plugged into the hub) into one of the USB slots, double-clicked on Navdesk to open it and within 30 secs it recognized my Navman and yahooee I could update my maps and also load my POI's

Re: Compatibility Change

For me, I just tick and change "run compatibility" for "windows 7" and check the box "run as administrator" as well ( Right-click Navman v7.50 App-> Properties-> Compatibility Tab"). After re-run app again, it downloads extremely fast.

This fixed my problem, thank you. I Had been trying for 2 days to sort this out. Wish I had found this post earlier.
