| Posted by hansonrj Audio Proximity Alerts Garmin 265WT I fail to be able to download and install audio red camera alerts. After reviewing posts on the subject. I have taken the following steps to no avail. Downloaded the red camera light poi's into a personal folder, downloaded the wave files and placed them in the same folder, downloaded sox.exe and installed in in the garmin folder which also contains poi loader. Used poi loader to transfer the files to my unit. using POI Loader I transferred the files to my Garmin and did not get the audio alerts. I get the alert messages and "dings" but not the audio. I also tried downloading MP3 files but that didn't work either. Undoubtedly I am missing something but am not sure just what I am doing wrong. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks, Roger |
| Posted by jamesflys Re: Audio Proximity Alerts Garmin 265WT It took me a few goes to get it to work but this is what I did; On a acer netbook running XP I downloaded the POI file and wav file (both with the same file name) and placed in My Gamin folder in My Documents folder. Downloaded POI loader, unpacked and loaded into the computer, then SOX.exe. Both went into the POI Loader folder which was in C:\Program Files\Gamin\POI Loader. Run POI Loader, select the My Garmin folder. As POI Loader runs you should see SOX run a few seconds after you start the run then the files are loaded on to the Nuvi.
