Please help - not sure I'm understanding this

Hi,

So I registered to try and get the Garmin Nuvi 1300 to display speed camera traps. I downloaded a couple files and put them where I thought they should be in my garmin's directories. However, no such luck.

Is there a really detailed step-by-step guide that pre-supposes nothing that'll help me do this properly? Not sure how I should be doing this - with a tool of some kind, when I plug in the USB cable not sure how I managed to get the garmin to come up as a drive on my Mac. I'm futzing. Any way I can reset my Garmin back to normal to delete the random files I put on?

Please - somebody help a noob.

Thanks,

Mike

You need to read through the following posts:
- http://www.gps-data-team.com/installation_instructions_garmin_poi_loader_3.php

That gives you all the information about how to do it. Initially it seems a mighty chore, but once you've got the structure set up and done it once, it all falls into place.

Simply create a "new" folder on the desktop (I name mine Data-Team xx-xx-2011). Then go to the POI section to check for the updates you want and save them to the new folder you just created on the desktop.

Then just use Garmin's POI loader & when you get to the step where you can choose files or folders (I believe this is step 3) find the folder you just created on the desktop. Only click the new folder ONCE to highlight it and then it will load to the Garmin. When it's completed the computer will show how many new POI's were updated.

I had trouble when I was 1st doing this cause I double clicked the folder I wanted to use, the "new folder", but it wouldn't do anything Rolling Eyes I called Garmin and they said to only click the folder once. Now it's real simple to do.

Could be more friendly to download multiple states

The conversion is easy. However, I would like to see the site allows us to get "check box" listing to select multiple states when downloading. That way will save users repeated drop down list selection time.

Hi, I think you should go per state or location and download a category. I've trying to find a check all button for all states but no avail.
