Posted by stanblaz Reverse engineering GPI files I'm trying to find out why some of my GPI files have correct icons whereas other have only black squares so I'm looking for something that will reverse the POILoader process. I've looked at the POI tools on this web site & most point to the same thing (POI Manager or POI edit) & one (the one I'm really wanting, Convert GPI to CSV) points to the wrong thing altogether (Convert CSV to OV2). I can create a CSV file from the supplied GPI file but what I 'really' want is the icon so I can (hopefuly) work out why I get some icons & some black squares. Does anyone know of such a tool? Thanks |
Posted by narsamma Re: Reverse engineering GPI files Hi stanblaz You can decrypt GPI file with both POI Manager and EXTRA POI Editor: I prefer using http://garmin.gps-data-team.com/extra/ - the best GPI extraction tool for Garmin to TomTom POI conversion You can use decrypted pois with any listed POI icon: http://poi.gps-data-team.com/ Cheers |
Posted by menno File Size I just discovered the file size is limited. Are there any other options to extract all data from a GPI. I got some GPI's that contain extended data and pictures. I dont need the pictures but really would like to extract the extended data so I can convert it into some other format (Sygic). Kind regards |
