| Posted by mick.coleman Tomtom GO730 Map Guarantee - Not Updating Map Bought a go730 (a week ago) which came with 2009 Australian Map V815.xxx used map guarantee to check for new map and it says I have the latest map for my device so there is apparently no new map. Checked tomtom web site for available maps and it recommends, after asking me to connect the go730 via tomtom home, that I purchase the latest Australian map V830 for my go730 for $109AU. |

| Posted by grantdale1 Map Guarantee Had a similar problem with an XL. Rang up TomTom and was advised that map guarantee is only valid for 1 month (30 days) from date of purchase. I obviously never noted this when I purchased GPS. Spoke to DSE Manager who was surprised as he believed that the upgrade deal was current for 6 months. Anyway I finished up purchasing the next map. |

| Posted by mick.coleman TomTom and Map Guarantee Unfortunately was away and hadn't been on the forum so missed the responses with the good advice so now it appears I've missed out because the 30 days has gone by. Still seems pretty stupid that you don't get your 30 day guarantee from when you register the TomTom. I'm sure they could have accepted that I might be eligible and requested I fax or whatever the receipt to validate my claim. It certainly doesn't suggest I needed to ring them rather than use TomTom Home to get my map guarantee. The TomTom was a present for my wife because she didn't want a Garmin because it wasn't as customisable as a TomTom with the voices and stuff. By the way I own a Garmin Nuvi 760 and got the map update straight from the Garmin without any problems. I just registered my Garmin then within a week of registering I did an update and checked if there were any map updates and got told there was and to download it. Guess I'll just have to do without the map update and NEVER BUY A TOMTOM AGAIN!!!!! Just another gripe about the TomTom anyone tried getting it to put a bluetooth phone's audio through their car radio? I've been looking in the forums for an answer to that one without any success from anyone. |
