Proximity Alert is enabled on my device. On POIloader i selected manual and entered 30.48 meters (100 ft). I do see the BMP icon but do not get any audio alerts. |

Posted by robbinskuma poi 100ft isn't much of a buffer. These units are only accurate to about 80 ft. If you add an under score (_) to the file name, you get a default distance to trigger of 1320 ft. That may be the minimum...not sure though. Try increasing the distance. The other thing, is if the speed camera file has a number in the file name, you have to be exceeding that speed ot trigger the alert, but I'm not sure if it uses both criteria if you select distance when loading manually so it would alert if only you exceed 60mph and are within 1320ft of the camera. Posted by mattchenzo proximity When loading manually you choose speed or disance. I always set the distance at 5280 ft, or 1 mile. That way i have enough time to react safely if i am in traffic. |

Posted by rchris494 I used SOX.exe I used poiloader.exe with sox.exe program placed in the poiloader.exe folder. Then just download the .mp3 or .wav file. Rename them to match up the .gpx file and upload to Garmin unit. It seems to work every time. You can use there POI tools here to convert a .csv file to .gpx. When you import POIs set to manual. Then set the distance or speed when using the Garmin poiloader.exe. |
