Posted by colbrit Tomtom GO 720 did not recognise the USB device I just purchased a GO 720 and it works fine in my car but when I connected it to my PC through the USB port. The PC gave me a message saying it did not recognise the USB device. HELP please like everyone says their support really lacks. |
Posted by Guest try this Ive got this same problem. The site says to hold reset button for 15 seconds then try again. This works for me, only problem is once I take it off the dock, I gotta do the reset everytime I connect the 720 to my comp or I'll get the does not recognize pop up. |
Posted by Guest234 TomTom not recognised by pc I also had a problem with my tomtom not being recognized by my pc, so I contacted tomtom support. They offered several suggestions, one being a software fix (free) but still nothing. They then sent me a free Royal mail box and bag (next day delivery) and said they'd check it and let me know how much it'll cost. If it was too much (max £125) then they'd post it back with no charge made. So off it went, it arrived back 3 days later, with a letter saying no fault was found, but "Hey presto!" it now connects perfectly. Worth a try maybe... |

Posted by Guest fixed for my GO 730 Extacly the same for me and my GO 730. It had always worked perfectly, but then yesterday (probably after an upgrade of the PC client - can this be related to it ? ) my laptop didn't recognize the USB device anymore. I put a paperclip on the reset button for 15 seconds and there you go. Works again :) Wonder if I indeed will have to do it every time I used it in the car... |

Posted by peter1111 usb Try deleting the "TT Home" software, reboot PC then reinstall "TT Home", as your TT USB drivers might have been screwed up. |
