Hi, just wondering if anybody could help, my tomtom 710 doesn't get past the tomtom find your way the easy way screen. I have tried reseting, but doesn't make any difference. It also will not turn off from the power button when it gets stuck on this screen?
Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers |

Me too. Just got a TomTom710.
It was working fine out of the box and then I did my first Backup (having just installed TomTom Home. Then it stuck exactly like you describe.
Be interested to find out the solution. Should I just leave it on until the battery runs out then hope it boots up normally?

i have had the same problem with my 910
everything seemed to be working fine, then backed up using tomtom home program & the unit keeps locking when i switch on, the only way i have got round this it to keep resetting it via back button, or by connecting it to my pc.
i dont seem to be loosing anything, its just it always happens before i go out. now i turn the unit on 15 mins before i depart, just in case ..

Hi all just wanted to ask if anyone with this problem has found the reset button that is at the back by the docking point.
If you look closely you will see a small notch at one side of the docking bay,
below this there is an even smaller push button that you will need a pin to push.
Hope that this is of some help.

Go to TomTom web site, download start up fix.
Run the flash, and that should fix your TomTom start up problems.

Fantastic help - just got Tom tom 910 connected it to PC etc and it would not start again.
The reset button is the small hole on the right as you look into the back just above the cradle connections - easily missed

| I seem to have similar prob. Tom Tom 710 that will not charge properly from the car charger even thought the green light is showing. I have tried to charge from the mains but nothing seems to work. Oddly, the unit still gives off a hissing sound even when it is shut off. I have a Mac computer so the Flash fix someone recommended doesn't work. Is this a fault I can fix?

Hi all
I've found the reset button for the TOMTOM 710 which should help reboot the machine and hopefully solve your problems.
Its located at the back of the machine in the space where you hook the machine into the cradle or charger. The hole is on the inside lip to the left. Look carefully.
Hope thie helps.
