Post Windows 10 privacy and alternatives

I read a lot about total absence of privacy with Windows 10. Knowing that it's made by the same people who made the Windows 8, I am worry that in addition to complete lack of functionality, the new release will not guarantee any privacy. I do not want my work stuff, emails and private messages saved remotely on Microsoft websites and webdrives.
Do I have any alternative?

Linux based operating systems offer for free everything that Windows does, including a free Office software. It does not store files remotely (unless you want a remote backup and access). You keep your files on your PC and don't share them with Microsoft.

Change to Apple computers and phones etc.
Made the change and everything much easier to sync.

I do not see any reason for your concerns. Microsoft, Facebook, Google and Apple already know everything about you.

I believe our guest comment is correct, it's difficult to use any system which is not been skimmed for information relevant or other (including malware, firewalls etc).

If you are in doubt and want to send things private, use the encryption or password functions within the properties on many software packages, however be careful with the passwords (send a text or something similar) if you feel the information is sensitive.

Well, in that case Microsoft already knows that I'm totally angry with their Windows 10 features. I cannot even save the simple document without constant prompting to provide admin password. Windows 8 looks like 10 times better than their flagship Win10 nuisance.

It's cool to read how Microsoft, Sony, Equifax, Amazon, Target, Apple, Facebook and look-alikes are trying to convince us how safe is to use their cloud storage for personal files. Almost to believe.

Post Microsoft wants to power your future vehicle OS

Oh NOOOO!
I just red somewhere that Microsoft wants Windows to power future self-driving cars. Microsoft, I can live with a randomly-self-rebooting Windows10 powered laptop, but will I survive a Windows-driven self-rebooting car? Will it ask for an admin password to park, turn or overtake a vehicle?

No worries mate,
They may want it, but they can't do it. The only way to do it is if they buy Tesla, Google or Apple. Microsoft failed with tablets/laptops (Surface): they can't provide spare keyboards for their hardware. They are unable to create a decent smartphone / cell phone software, or even a good search website. Check their Bing searches: useless.
Cheers

What about recent Yahoo, Hotmail, Facebook and Google security breaches? Massive!
Their response: it happens.

Post Office 365 trial nuisance

How to get rid of the Office 365 trial offer messages on my Windows 10 laptop? It pops up every week with no option to stop it. After a few hundred pop-ups, Microsoft should understand that I would already take it if I wanted it. Any easy way to stop it?

Microsoft's security holes and backdoors are created intentionally and left unprotected for a "higher" purpose. Microsoft is as guilty as hackers who attack computers poorly defended by poorly designed software.
The only reasonable action is to use a better designed software. I am looking/ learning how to replace Windows with Linux. I already migrated my emails from Hotmail to Gmail, and searches from Bing to https://duckduckgo.com

My youngest (85+) grandmother is the newest, proud Ubuntu user. It took me 1 hour to download and set up Ubuntu 16.04 on her rather old Windows 7 laptop. Ubuntu works like a charm: Firefox for Linux, Netflix, youtube and sudoku. I can connect remotely to help and maintain the laptop, if needed.
Windows free house - finally.

Microsoft was a good guys company many years ago. They became a bloated, overpriced, spyware loaded software company. They should pay users to load their software.
Do I need to mention - I'm a Linux guy (since Windows 8.1), and a Garmin user (since Tomtom VIA)

I host a small wordpress website. It's attacked daily, hundreds of brute force wp-login.php attempts resulting in a months long DDOS. I can't block the attacker as he/she/they change the origin IP address (botnet?, VPN?).

I am absolutely sure that Microsoft and all other global digital giants know who is attacking my and all other websites, the real attacker's source, name, address, shoe size, eye color, bank details, etc.
What did they do about this?
Did they block the source? No, they didn't.
