This Garmin 3590 sometimes directed me to a highway I do not want to go. what I should do to force GPS to crete a route on a different highway?

Download the free program "Basecamp" and you can make your own route for any destination that you wish, then upload it to the Garmin GPS.
Have been doing it for years due to the irregularities of GPS systems.

I use this free Poi Editor for Garmin: https://www.gps-data-team.com/convert/
You can enter an address or place to geocode, save and navigate to your destination. It works on my tablet, Mac, and at firewall protected work HP workstation. I save my file to a small USB or SD card for use in my car.
Works well for me.
