If the smartST 2005 (version 3.5) dektop software fails to install on a pc running Windows XP number of steps can be taken:
1)clear the temp files.
Retry install.
if this does not work, try to install directly from the RUN command in XP.
If the install still fails, NAVMAN recommends:
Go to C drive; > program files > common files > install shield. Please delete the contents of this folder and then reboot the PC and start the install of the software.
This last step should work without problems.
