Just wondering how live traffic works.

I have a Tom Tom GO910.

I'm guessing that you have to have a mobile phone linked to the device for live updates to happen, but if this is the case how do you still remain connected to the hands free device in the car, particularly to make and receive calls?

Firstly, your GPS has to support Traffic updates ,and you would have to subscribe to the service, unless your GPS came with free Traffic function.
