Hi, does anyone know if you can avoid a road during navigation if it becomes blocked.

ie: my old TomTom you could just hit find alternate and then avoid part of journey, and it would list the roads it was intending on taking, you just hit the road you want to avoid and it will find another way around just that road.

Cant seem to find the same feature on the Garmin

All you have to do is turn off the blocked road and it will say re-calculating and take you on another route.

Garmin will calculate new route when you drive into a new road. However, the car must be driven more distance, otherwise it will let you u-turn always.
