A few common Volkswagen/Skoda/Seat RNS questions answered:

How can I download RNS POI files?
Go to our POI Zone, select your country, category and file(s), press the Download button and select the RNS SatNav POI option (One-click-updates).

How it works?
First select (add to cart) all files that you need. Press the Download button to download the DB3 file with all selected POIs.

Can I download test/demo DB3 files?
You can use our DB3 files if you can inspect POI's in your existing DB3 files with our POI Editor, or use DB3 files created with our DB3 POI Editor.

How can I update my RNS?
Save downloaded DB3 file to your USB drive or SD card into the x://PersonalPOI/ folder, disconnect USB/SD from your computer, insert it into your RNS and follow the prompts:
[Setup] -> [Navigation] -> [My Points of Interest] ->[Import]
than go to
[Setup] -> [Map] -> [Select Map Details] and select permanent POIs (Safety/Private/...)

What format is RNS-510 POI file
We provide DB3 POI file format.

I want to download some POI files. Do I have to register?
No, you don't. RNS POI files are available to our guests.

I am not a member. Can I download RNS POIs at a country level.
Yes, guests can download RNS POIs at a country level.

Can I download RNS POIs with phones numbers and addresses.
Yes, you can download full POI info (including coordinates, address and phone number), where available.

Where do I enter my username and PIN number?
Go to our Log in page and enter your username and PIN. Please keep your RNS POI files and access details safe.

I am a member. I cannot find the Add to Cart button?
Log out before you press the Download button. Add to Cart button is available on our main POI downloads page.

I am a member. Where can I enter my PIN number?
First log in with your guest username and PIN number. Than log in with your member username and password.
This way you will export all Personal POIs (from your Protected POI Zone) to your RNS-510 file. Do not forget to log out after you finish.

Can you add more features to the DB3 POI Editor?
As a public demand driven site, we can change/add more features to our POI Editor if you need it. For example, our member asked for a tool to join RNS-510 DB3 POI files: https://www.gps-data-team.com/convert/merge-db3.php

What's the limit? How many personal and public POIs can I save to my RNS POI file.

Download of RNS-510 DB3 POI files.

I have read the instructions to download RNS-510 DB3 POI for Safety Cameras. I have tried lots of combinations, but still get an empty file. If I then upload it to POIEdit to see what is there and just one line.

rns 510 speed camera POI

I'm in need of some help.

I've downloaded the uk speed camera POI for my rns510 and put it onto my sd card. there was no 'x://PersonalPOI' folder on my sd card though so I just put speed camera POI directly onto the sd card.

I then put the sd card into my rns510 and followed the prompts 'setup' and then 'navigation'. when I got into navigation the 'my points of interest' wasn't lit up so I couldn't click on it.

Not sure what to do now.

Anyone's help will be much appreciated

I had a similar problem. You have to create a folder on the SD card called PersonalPOI then add the file to that. It worked for me.

Not Able to download RNS 510 POI's Am I missing somethi

I have still never been able to download ANY POI files. I first choose UK, then road safety, the web page shows 'GPS POI for the United Kingdom', with a list starting with
GATSO ICON - UK SatNav speed camera GPS database. Our POI files can be used by many other popular PDA and GPS navigation brands.
So I select GATSO
Next page shows country and category that I have already selected,. the big green 'download' button,
a pull-down which has England in it and a box that shows the GATSO icon in it and the find button.
I have read the q&s's so as a member I have logged out.
Next page shows 'GPS POI download format:' with a usage gage where the pointer is on the far right in green, but there is a message showing
'Maximim guest download limit reached (too many downloads from your ISP).
Press the button for full POIs with unlimited updates:'
BTW my ISP is Virgin Media.
If I now press 'Add to Cart', a PayPal dialogue opens up asking me for £1, is this correct, because I thought in the forum it said FREE POI's

The forum also says

OK I only have one 'member username', what is a guest username? It is all a little confusing. The upshot is NO POI's.

What happens when you select a CSV file format? You, as a registered member, can download our country level CSV files and convert them to a DB3 file. Alternatively, you can add as many files to your Cart and download the DB3 file in a single click (guests only).

I'm getting somewhere, I tried Hospitals in CSV format (for something completely different) and it worked. I downloaded ALL UK. Then tried again on Safety Cameras and got GATSO for UK in CSV.

But which CSV file should I use before conversion? Garmin POI CSV, Navman POI CSV, Magellan POI CSV, Streets and Trips POI CSV, Navigon POI CSV or Route 66 POI CSV.

I tried some which did not work. I did get Navigon.CSV to work but I am not seeing the correct ICON when on my RNS 510. The saved DB3 file contains my last used ICON. And I suspect that the warnings are not working.

So is it possible to get all these GATSO's for UK, with the correct ICON and Warnings for RNS 510?

Yes Keith, you can:
1. Download our CSV and BMP files and convert them to a DB3 file (with our POI Editor ) , or
2. Download a single DB3 file with all POIs added to your Cart (Extra)

Downladed CVS files for Gatso and Truvelo. Made sure the BMP is 27X27, the Sygic BMP's work and show on the RNS510.

The whole point of speed camaras is to get a warning so not having the warning make the poi's UTTERLY USLESS.
