Does anyone have any experience, advice or opinions on the new 3597LMTHD units from Garmin they would care to share with those of us who are considering purchasing one?...
I just purchased the Garmin Nuvi 3597 LMT HD on 2 Jul 2013 and it's our best GPS to date! Pricy, but we're very happy with this device! I would recommend it to anyone wanting to update or for a first time GPS buy.
Works very well, and the traffic is about 80% correct, missed one major event that I was caught up in and never flagged it as a traffic problem.
Still exploring it predictive traffic advice, but you can turn this off and just run on the standard traffic updates if you wish.
Audio levels are good, and the magnetic mounting is excellent, much better system than the old clip on approach
As I had a previous Garmin I had no problem following its logic.
I got my 3597 LMT after seeing it on TVSN and I have had a few gps in past, but upon using this one after a few months I found it very user friendly and nothng better then not having to stop and just speaking to the unit using voice command to do tasks like add stops to a route or talk on mobile ect.. It is really best gps unit I have ever owned
I've just updated to one of these from the old 1490 and am very happy. Everything that was feeling clunky and old in the old model is quick and fluid in the new model. Also it is much thinner and lighter. Price-wise, I found it a no brainer. I bought two units (one each for me and the missus) and I spent less $ than I did on the original 1490 3 years ago.
The new model includes the traffic sensor in the pack (had to purchase separately previously) and the lifetime map upgrades make it pretty close to perfect for me.
The only thing which I still find a little lacking is the Bluetooth speaker phone functionality. It just doesn't cut it with a bit of road noise. But I bought it for a GPS. The Bluetooth Handsfree is a secondary function for me.
I have a Garmin Nuvi 3597 LMT HD and it is the best GPS I have owned so far. The screen is easy to read, easy to enter a search, the directions to follow are clear and concise. Adding the POI's are easy and show up good. The alert Banner across the top of the screen is really good. All in all a top unit would highly recommend.
I've just bought one as a replacement for a damaged Nuvi 3490LMT.
In hindsight I should have got the Nuvi 3490. It may only have a 4.3" screen, but it has more features e.g. dashboards, speed limits displayed on all but local roads plus others.
Since placing my comment on 2/2/2014, I've had to amend my opinion. Overall the directions are less confusing; excess detail in instructions has been removed, & response times are quicker. Overall, it is way ahead of the 3490LMT
I would still like to be able to see current & estimated arrival times; speed, and direction of travel displayed at the bottom of the screen, but I guess you can't have everything!?!
I have the 3790T. It is very good except when driving in the city. It just kept losing satellite because of the high buildings. Can anyone tell me how this 3597 performs for city driving? Is the signal receiver strong or still the same problem for city driving? Thanks.
After a lifetime of TT, I changed from the TT500 UK Traffic to the Garmin 3598 and I am astounded at how much better the Garmin unit is. Took a bit of getting used to but I consider this to be an excellent buy.
Is a good Garmin GPS. I loved it.
I bought mine in the United States. Vocal control, while exists for the model sold in Brazil, was not available for update in the Portuguese identical model purchased in the United States which I found an untrusted Garmin's policy. I have 4 previous Garmin models and felt cheated.
