Hi I have a Garmin 265WT, which has had no issue with the lifetime map updates from Garmin, however the latest map US&Canada 2013.30 won't load and is telling me I do not have enough space left in the unit and I must choose either Canada and the northern USA, or the southern USA only.

This is no good for me as I frequently travel across Canada and to the southern US.

This has never happened before - I could always load the entire North American mapset no problem (including the 2013.20 release only a few months ago), and I have not added any new POIs or any other data to the unit since the last update.

I do have all of the original voices and vehicle icons etc although I am only using one voice and a custom vehicle icon - do I need to start deleting these to free up enough space for the new US&Canada maps?

Would do as you suggest and remove all unwanted/ un-needed extras on the GPS, and if that does not fix the problem, you may have to add an SD card to take all the info..

Adding the SD card works well. By doing that I am also able to add additional maps and switch between versions by going to the map settings.

I agree. I have a Garmin 265wt and adding the sd card was easy and worked a treat. It left plenty of space for extras and was simple to switch between the versions.
