I use the latest Netgear ADSL modem in my new house. It disconnects every time when I press the download button, or if I browse the net more then 5 minutes. Is there any fix for it?

Sorry, I can't help as we do not use Netgear modems. In general, site content can not cause your modem failure. It must be just a common Netgear's faulty hardware or firmware related problem. Return it and ask for a replacement.

Just got a new modem (Netgear).
It works better than the old one. I even managed to block facebook https pages using Netgear's advanced static route options.
