I have downloaded speed and safety camara poi to my desk top windows 7 and installed it to my device. At least I think it was installed. But I cannot find any stored location on the device, or receive any alerts when driving.
Could someone please help

How did you instal the POI files to the GPS ?? There is a program that is used to convert and instal all POI files in one single file called POI.gpi
Little more info needed to be able to assist further.

Because I have the exact same GPS and am trying to accomplish the exact same thing.

I just stumbled across this site a few hours ago and so I'm classified as an ultra-newbie struggling to do this for the first time.

Post POI file loading

You can't just copy the poi files to your GPS. You need the program called POI Loader to compress all the poi files into one file called POI.gpi which it then loads/sends to the GPS.

Good info, thanks.

Any idea if this will overwrite my waypoints that I imported from my old StreetPilot using Basecamp?

Also, does the POI file titled USA Safety Cameras also have known locations for police car hideouts with mobile radar? My immediate goal is to load POIs for speed traps and speed cameras for an upcoming trip.

Will not overwrite your waypoints as they are in a different file...........
