Cannot see some of the POI details in my Garmin 1490T
After downloading the Speed Cameras files for France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and The Netherlands, and uploading the CSV, BMP and Wav files to the Garmin Unit via the POI Loader, it seems that the data is not there for all countries except France.
When I go to <Where To? / Extras / Custom POIs> and select say Denmark, all I see are the comments written at the top of the CSV files. The GPS locations of the cameras do not show up, like they do not exist.
Yet when I search the City of Copenhagen, I can see all the street names which tells me that the detailed maps are properly installed in the unit (in a micro SD Card containing the Europe maps)
Also, when I look at the content of some of the CSV files (via Notepad on a Windows PC), some of the files I downloaded from this web site contain the word (Sample) at the end of each line. Why?
Another problem I have noticed with my GPS is that even if the POI Loader program deletes the previous POI GPI file (which I can see when the unit is connected to my computer), the content of prior POI files seem to still be in the unit when I look at the Custom POI's. Would they be in the GPX folder or the Archive folder?
After writing my prior post, I found the reason for the POI previously installed being present in the 1490T even after I deleted the POI via the POI Loader: I had saved the prior POI GPI file in a different folder on the unit and the Garmin software would include it as an additional POI file even though it was no longer in the so-called POI folder in the Unit.
So the bottom line is that the Garmin GPS software looks for ANY GPI file whether it is in the "POI" folder or not.
I still have not resolved the issue of the Safety Cameras data of some countries not showing in my Garmin 1490T but I am trying hard to find the reason by comparing visually the "good" CSV files with the "bad" ones.
