Well
Further in my comparison between these two devices.
I am REALLY impressed that the Garmin not only advises of School Zones but adjusts the speed limit accordingly at the designated times of the day.
Another plus to Garmin.
Does anyone else find this feature helpful or am I easily impressed?

Garmin has and always will be far superior than Tom Tom
After all garmin have been in the GPS type communications game a lot longer then Tom Tom
earliest i have heard of around the Korean war where us troops used garmin emergency radio communications equipment to help locate pilots that had been shot down

I always thought Garmin had devices for aviation use long before road vehicle units were devised, my Dad had one in his Cessna when I was a boy

You could possible thank your map provider for that, as they supply Garmin the mapping data.

Hmmm...if I understand correctly, do you mean that say during school zone time, it would set at 40kmh whereas at other time, it would indicate the normal speed limit? If so, my Garmin does not seem to be doing so or maybe I did not notice. However, it would always says, 'school zone ahead' regardless of when, right?

I have used several different GPS units for Personal and Professional purposes. By far the best is Garmin.! The important thing is to make sure that what you purchase has the features you want and is a new model. This helps ensure the best navigation features are aboard in the hardware and firmware.
