The POI files have to uploaded to the GPS with POI loader program as it decodes all your poi files and sends them to the gps as one file called
POI.gpi

For Garmin 255W
I prepare and assemble/edit my POI files on my hard drive, finishing with POI Loader.
Having done this I just copy and paste to Memory card
