I downloaded the various files (red light and speed, gatso, truvelo ds2, monitron etc), extended ones where poss. When using POILoader to generate the GPI file, a lot of them had proximity alerts ticked but no default speeds. So I assumed "0" meant "whatever's in the individual POI".
I have found that there are no speed alerts when using these databases. (is this correct?)
So I downloaded the 20 and 30 mpg files, and uploaded these only. Hey presto they work. |

Usually 0 means you will always get an alert regardless of your speed. |
...which is what I thought, only it doesn't with the files not called "speed camera @ X mph".

So as not to duplicate POI, I suggest you use POI Loader to remove your existing GPI on your unit, the use POI Loader again to install all the POI you do actually want. |
yep, what I did (after backing up the original file on the unit).

I personally prefer the 0 setting and always get an alert - keeps me on my toes. |
Well, you know that is quite good advice, because after driving from London to Norfolk (and around the county), I must have come across 4 or 5 cameras that have the incorrect speeds set in the POI file. Fine if it's lower than the camera's speed but not if the other way around.
I also spotted that there were a couple of cameras missing from the downloadable files.
Unfortunately I was driving at the time and could not note their locations. Suffice to say, I was surprised - as the update I did a couple of years ago never seemed to let me down.
I have also noticed the unit is now hanging after my recent upload activity, whereas before it was 95% solid. It's not the size of the GPI file because it happened when I originally just uploaded the 20 and 30 mph files. Will shortly raise it as an issue in a separate post.
