Hi,
I came this way to ask if anyone knows how to correct the wrong speeds on the POI or if I did install wrong the POI..

My GPS is one Garmin Nuvi 1340

So here is what I did...
I did download the POI of Safety Road from Netherlands, I download always the BMP ( Image ), the audio file if exists ( MP3 ) and the "Garmin POI (Custom POI with extended info)". I did put them all in one folder in my desktop with the name "road safety".

I did start my POI LOADER VER. 2.5.4, I did select "save options" to my "Garmin device", and put Install new custom POI, then I put my folder with my POI that I download, and change the units to Meters and KPH and used the EXPRESS MODE ( recommend ) by the program, then just put next and it was working well.. but the Speeds are wrong.. where is my mistake?

Did I did something wrong? I tried many things but nothing changes. Anyone with the same problem?

Best Regards.

Friend,
First your unit can not play MP3.
Garmin GPS models 13xx and 14xx are using WAV file, and speed POI is GPX files and BMP. to make your GPS using voice alert, you will need SOX.exe "you can find it inside this forum" let me know if you can not find it.

.start with. completed all POI need in one folder
.connect your GPS to computer "make sure communication good"
.run Garmin POI Loader software
.follow the screen. restart your GPS after completed load.

Thank you for the help.
I did all again, but the speed is wrong, but I have the voice now... about the speed I think that it is for everyone like that, because, in other places the speed is correct. Weird to have speed limit to 50 on Highway...
But well..is not too bad.

Thank you very much for the help Smile

( just for the doubt, the speed is wrong on Netherlands, which one I do not know, because I have download all of them. but just go to one highway and you will see many of them with the wrong speed. )

The road authority's change speed limits quiet often for various reasons, road works etc. and they are not obliged to notify GPS company's of changes, it is up to the driver to watch the road and not believe the GPS all the time. You will be the one paying the fines..

It is good advice not to rely totally on the GPS. Roads change, speed limits change.
After all a GPS is an aid to navigation and is not a substitite for reading road signs and obeying speed limits but is very handy to remind you of what's around in the way of cameras because it is easy for the speed to creep up on you whne travelling long distance.

Safe driving

In NSW, Australia, RTA has adopted mobile speed camara. So do not rely totally on the GPS.
