My Nuvi 2360LT now has an audible overspeed warning. It flashes red, and has a ding. The problem is, it does it when you are 1km over the speed limit. So it is very annoying, and there is no where to change the buffer, or even turn it off!! It's only started happening since the latest update.

I agree. They must have removed this because it people didn't like it. The red speed limit sign is enough for me on my 1490.

I too agree that the red speed limit sign is enough. Would be better if it could be a bigger flash for a couple of seconds though to attract my attention as I don't always look at the GPS.

The nuvi 3490 beeps if you go over the speed limit you can set it to give continuous tone or single tone warning

I do like to see the speed limit on the road I am traveling which is why I now have the Nuvi 3490lmt

In the UK if no speed limit listed it depends are far the lamp post are apart to tell if it's a 30mph limit or 40mph limit. check UK highway code book I know because my Civil Service Dept. (HMS0)printed the book from 1931 and still have its copyright now.

The highway code book is still UK bestselling book (apart from the bible) over 1 million copies of the highway code are sold every year.

Most countries in the world base their highway/traffic rules on the UK highway code book

Many Magellan GPS have audible traffic warnings. You can set two different thresholds depending on the speed limit zone. For example, you can set the unit to warn you when you exceed by 8km/hr for speeds zones of 70km/hr and slower, and 16km/hr when you are on a 100Km/hr zone highway. I really liked this feature on the Magellan GPS. I tough this simple feature was on all GPS...I will sell my Garmin and go back to Magellan
