I have the latest update from Garmin on my 660 and it still does not recognize the 4gb SD card. Tested with an old 64mb card and it works just fine. Guess well have to wait for another update to be able to read large SD cards. Has anyone else been succesfull in using cards over 2gb?

Post Nuvi 660 Losing Satelite signals

I received a replacement unit from Garmin. It worked for one day before the same Losing Satellite signal problem resurfaced. I have done no updates or even hooked it up to my computer.

I like the unit however it needs to perform its primary function first.

The 4 GB Transcend SD card started working with the original unit and it is working with the replacement too.

We too have lost connection to the satelites. What a drag, off to the support shop for me. Still under warranty, should all these problems we are reading, be occurring?

I've been using a 16gb SD card for music without any problems except that it takes a long time to "boot" up when the card is installed.

I have been lucky with my 660 and it has updated firmware with no problems with each available update. I am running Windows Vista.

I'm using an 8GB SDHC card and it works, slow to boot tho.
Have had this unit for 16mths, Love it mostly, only real problems are Bluetooth only works for a while then drops out and you have to restart unit and phone to connect again, qwerty keyboard would be nice AND Maps are crap!
The area I live in has been established for at least 8 years and the streets aren't even on the maps! Guess thats how it is outside of the US!

I have been using a 4GB card since brand new, which is a couple of years ago now. Always kept the unit up to date with firmware updates. The issues with bluetooth occur with me also, but it is dependent on the phone.

If I use my iPhone, no problem. If I use my Nokia, it drops out and comes back over and over again.

As for your problem ottawadude, I have never had that problem. Have added music over and over and never had an issue. Are you using the card external when you add or leaving the card plugged into the unit?
