I just logged on to the Garmin site and it told me there is an software update for my Nuvi250w. I performed the update & rebooted as instructed. Now when I turn my Garmin on I get to the GARMIN screen and it hangs, goes blank and then comes back to the GARMIN screen. It just keeps doing this.
I've tried the reset several times and still the same. I cannot connect to my PC either. HELP!!!
Do you have a SD card installed? Sometimes removing the SD card helps. You might also want to try a master reset. However, performing a master reset will remove all your data.
You hear so much bad news about Garmin support so I thought I'd update this with some positive feedback.
I called Garmin and got through to the support desk quickly. I explained the problem and after them asking many questions and me answering, it was decided the unit needed to go back. They wanted £50 to fix it. I said it was working perfectly before the download so they should fix it for free. Eventually they agreed and said it would be a 10 working day turnaround.
After 8 days I got a replacement unit upgraded to a 255W and all my subscriptions for maps and cameras linked to it. You can't get a better service than that!!!
