Hi all,
Was hope that GPS DATA TEAM could hold a excel database of all the present POI's we have already.
This way everyone can download and look for was is missing and look up the longitude and latitude for the missing poi's.
Example:
I have just made up Mobil Petrol Station Australia wide and sorted and added what we have presently captured from the mobil.ov2 from the download page.
We need to have more database makeup then we can surf for the POI location via MAPS on this site for the longititude and latitude, then convert and upload back to GPS to have available to all and the one *.*ov2 file.

This wold eliminate double up of POI's.

Also made up the Public Toilet of Australia very large file to work on, but would be worth it in the long run.

Also working on Hogs Breath Cafe and Domino's, Pizza Huts, Shell, and Harvey Norman as I noticed New South Wales and the rest except for Victoria do not have much POI's spotted.
GPS DATA TEAM how can I upload a file to you to explain what I'm talking about?
Cheers Drew

Copilot POI XLS format is actually simple Excel file, available as a standard download format in our free POI download zone. It that what you need? Just download file as XLS format and do whatever you need to do...

No good Copolit.xls what you need to do host a full list of each POI's type that is available from companies like McDonald,Mobil, KFC, Shell, Public Toilets just to name a few.

We provide some files at a level of details that we decided to release at the moment. You can easily manage many additional fields with any relational database. We can not see any use of publishing 2,000.000 POI locations in Excel format (other than what is provided here: Free POI files )

We expect to have more GPS community involvement.
Any registered GPS user can provide new data collections, and to update existing files.
Our POI tools help to create and to maintain POI files. More is coming soon...

Hi Mark,
Can you explain: Hint: open location map (With your Map Viewer web page: http://www.gps-data-team.com/map/) with a right mouse click to enter the ADVANCED MAP Coordinate Finder feature (does not work). You can easily browse, zoom, update map, select map location, copy coordinate and add it to your file.

Also I was going to ask a for a stick page for people to post what they are working on, as I just started working on Holden car dealership in NSW!!
Because I do not want to work on new POI someone else working on, just a waste of time.
Can you come up with something?
Cheers Drew

Go to any POI file, ( e.g. AU Attractions )

Click Map link - small map pop up. Plain and simple.
Click Map link with right mouse button + OPEN - Advanced coordinate finder with cut and paste box.

I find it quite useful to browse advanced map, find coordinate, than just switch the window, click to Add or Edit (on the POI list page), and new POI is there...

I created AU attractions file in 2-3 minutes, just to test how this works...

All current development projects are listed in our POI Directory. Check if your work file is already there, just to prevent duplicate work on any new POI collection. You can list and discuss your current development in this forum.
