Magellan mini USB port
I just threw out my 3225. The mini USB port fell into the unit. It was glued NOT soldered onto the circuit board. Never again will I buy Magellan.
I called Garmin and they assured me that the port was soldered. So far I'm happy with the NUVI 255W.

Magellan 3225 problem
Forgot to mention that the 3225 was only 2 yrs old as a XMAS gift.

Magellan
I have Magellan 500, and it does not use mini USB cable. Instead, it has connect from GPS serial port to PC USB port.
