I have downloaded the SE USA map for my tomtom for my holiday in a weeks time however can't seem to access it on my device (although the computer shows it is installed on there). Do I have to wait until I have landed in the US before it will display?? Thanks

For me, no. All available maps are switchable under manage maps from the Options screen. Once switched, you should be in the new map.

I believe it won't show until your in the states.

sal_333's post is correct if you are wanting to swap over to alternate maps. Having said that you won't be able to route a trip etc... until you get the GPS to a location that is within the map coverage.
