Does anyone know where you can download ANY Garmin Text-To-Speech voices?

I find it handy when they say the street names, even if the pronunciation can be bad at times.

I'm not after the standard "in 300 metres turn left" voices, I'd rather the TTS ones.

You can download voices ,vehicle icons, .. etc

Also any one who has a Garmin unit can send the voice file directly to you, and you can simply copy it to the voices folder after connect the unit to you pc

Thanx, but I couldn't see any TTS (text to speech) link's/files, etc.

Unless I'm blind, does anyone know whether or not it it possible to download customer TTS voice files, or are the only custom ones out there are the normal "in 300 metres turn"...... I still like the readout street names feature, but the chick doing the talking is getting a bit boring.

If you think Karren (name of the boring chick in ALL Aussie sold GPS units) is boring you can d/l a different one from :

Look for the links in the first message, They're all free - boring and hopeless to me - but you may like them...

I prefer g'ol Karren very nice a familiar chick in all GPSs.
She doesn't say the name of the passing streets (is that what you're after?) but only the one you should be aware of.. good enough for me. . don't like other talking when driving....

I totally agree, some of the "sounds" (voices) are very distracting, and the Aussie female is the clearest voice so far.
Have never seen an add for a GPS that said it was to reproduce weird voices, just a good aid to safer driving.

Free voices never seem to be TTS, even the novelty ones you can buy arnt TTS unless someone knows differently ?
