Is there any particular software available that would allow a backup of my entire unit. I previously had a TomTom and there was a backup function in their software. Or is it the case with the Garmin I just have to manually back up all files on the device?
Think you can back up everything in the root directory from the Garmin. Not sure if it will backup the maps though, but will copy all files in the root directory.
I can confirm that backing up everything from the Garmin directory will backup the maps as well. I regularly backup by copying the entire Garmin directory in all my GPSes.
