Is it worth upgrading to the Nuvi 765?

I also have a 660, and I love it. My wife got a 780, also a discontinued model, with MSN traffic. It's so much better. I wish mine would break so I could justify a new one, but it's been really good to me. Getting a new one for you would all depend on what more you want. Do we need new ones? No. Do we want new ones? Heck yes!

How well does the lane guidance work? I have a 770 and thought about upgrading to a newer T model with it. I find that with the 770 that coming into intersections it gets really slow in updating your place on the map. Hoping that the T models really address this.

Have had the 765 for over a month now, and the update of screen time is very quick. Same with re-calculating routes when you dissobey the turn prompts, now very fast..

I would look at the 1490 series coming out before upgrading to the 765T. The 1490 has all the features the 765T has in addition to some others not present on the 765T, eg., enhanced pedestrian mode.

Plus the software on the 765T has been improved upon, but by no means perfected. I still have bluetooth and FM transmitter issues - devices not connecting is the big one...

I purchased my 765 about 2 months ago and wouldn't trade it for anything. Its so much better than my Magellan which I had for 3 years. Lane assist is great, my only wish would be that it worked at all major changes. Another great feature is being able to route to a different place before getting to your final destination (eg stopping for coffee on the way to work). POI's took a little bit to understand how to organize them, but now I can find the local starbucks or Marriott Hotel faster than using the normal search tool.

So make the big step and upgrade, you won't be disappointed....
