I have managed to download some different start up and shut down pictures but I cannot find any instructions as to how to change them on the navigation device. Its probably very simple, but I can't find the answer, can anyone help please.

Plug your tomtom in to your computer and turn it on. When it asks if you want to connect to PC press Yes.

Look in 'my computer (assuming Windows) and you will see a drive that is the tomtom storage. If tomtom home starts automatically, just ignore it.

In that drive in the root, are two files:
splashw.bmp
antitheftw.bmp

These are the startup and shutdown BMP images for your device.

I suggest you keep the originals somewhere before you replace them.

Note that your tomtom may or may not resize pictures you put in there, so resize them first to the same size as the original images.

As usual, before you make any changes, backup your tomtom.

This is just a copy of everything in the removable storage drive that is your tomtom to a folder on your computer. Don't use Tomtom Home to perform a backup as it is frankly useless.
