G'day fellow GPSers,

I love my new Nuvi 760, BUT, the contrast of the screen annoys me. At low brightness levels (I don't like a searchlight in my face while I'm driving), the whites look grey and in night mode the blacks look grey.

Night driving in the country (night mode), I set the brightness to 0% and the screen is clearly visible, but the blacks aren't black Sad

I have gone into the setup (holding down the battery symbol for 10 seconds), found the contrast settings, pressed the buttons but nothing happens, all setting remain on zero.

Any help would be appreciated Smile

Cheers all, happy GPSing Very Happy

When it boots up, go to >tools>settings>display>auto... where you can select 'day' ,'night', or 'auto' and the brightness levels you want for 'day' and 'night'. In the 'auto' mode they will become what you have preset.

Also, you may tip the unit either up or down to change the way the display looks when it is in use, varying the contrast greatly to suit your preferences and the way the whites, blackes, and clolors look.

Hope this helps.

Grant.
