Hi folks,
I have a Nuvi 660 and the European map.
I found there was a new 2009 version so I purchased it and tried to unload it....
It was impossible; I tried more than a dozen times and I always reached 99% of the downloading and then suddenly I got an error window that only allowed me to re-try again.
I have windows vista and Mcafee anti virus, but it looks as if there is some glitch in the downloading program itself. I am able to download 2.46 GB and it creates an unusable file "Garmin_RMU_CNEUNT2009.exe. (something else) and a small window stating "The Server has returned an ERROR" and that is as far as I can go...
Can someone help me out. The download has already been charged to my visa account.
BR and Merry Christmas

Turn off screen saver (and be sure power saver isn't set to turn off harddisk or anything else.) Turn off your firewall. This exact thing happened to me and this fixed it.

I had the same problem but downloaded the update by choosing the option not to use the Garmin Downloader.

Post Problems while downloading Garmin_RMU_CNEUNT2009.exe

Hi,
I've got exactly the same problem while downloading 99% of the file Garmin_RMU_CNEUNT2009.exe, using The Garmin Download manager.
To avoid it, in the window "About the Download manager", click on "Click here" to download the file WITHOUT the download manager. The download can finish properly.

This must be an issue with the GARMIN server as I am also having problems with downloading the Australian 2009 updated map after purchasing the Nuvi 660.

Gave up after 5 attempts. 20 hours wasted!

Call Garmin. Garmin UK say the server problem is known in the USA. They are posting me a DVD.

Arfer, use Mozilla Firefox.
It's fast, it's free and you can pause, restart and resume downloads.

I do not like to use any download manager as they are usualy loaded with spamware. Firefox has all what I need and is a problem free.

The issue I had with the 2009 maps has now been resolved as I have now been able to download the update. Must have been a temporary issue, all good now so try again.

I use Garmin 2009 maps and Vista and I've been having problems with it freezing as well.
I installed it on my other computer with XP and all is going well.

Some, but not much satisfaction that I am not the only one having this problem.
Download was ok although it took about 45 miins. But about 2-3 minutes into the "launch" I got the message "launch failed" "File corrupt". It's already charged to my CC and of course this is Saturday so no support. I sent a message of the problem and asked for a CD.
