I am waiting for the traffic report antenna for my Garmin 760 before I try it.
I will report back after I have tried it for a few days
I have been told they will have on stock tomorrow.
I went in to the store today to get the traffic alert antenna they have them in stock but not for my modal (Nuvi 760). I rang Garmin to see when the stock for my unit will be in and was told not until next year some time. I find this disgusting but o well should have bought a tom tom.
rellis1 you have a tom tom do you have to buy any thing to get the suna alerts to work ???
Finally got my traffic alert antenna for my Garmin Nuvi 760 today. It's been available at Johnny apple seed for a few weeks but I could not afford it due to losing my overtime due to the downturn.
The traffic alert seems to work (I can look up a list of alerts) but I have only had it for 3 hours or so and there has been no traffic problems in my route so I don't know how it works yet when there is a problem when you are driving along. I will report back when this happens (I'm a truck driver so I'm on the road 5 days a week)
I had the Tomtom XL series 30 with SUNA for quite some months now, have just given up on the Tomtom and gotten a Navman S150 Platinum due to continual issues with the Tomtom not getting a fix. The SUNA on the XL was pathetic, info was always out of date, I sat not moving for 45 min many times on Coronation drive in Brisbane and not once did the XL say there was a traffic problem there. Many times it warned me to avoid "problems" that were non-existent, so it seems the information was far out of date.
I have just received the TMC for the Navman so will test it out tonight and see whether was the Tomtom or SUNA in general.
Well after 3 days I can say the TMC works much better on the Navman than the XL. The information updates more quickly and the way it is displayed by the GPS is much nicer and easier to understand. It's still not perfect in Brisbane, I think SUNA need to get their act together better but it IS improving and works better on the Navman in my experience.
Glad I saved the extra $140-00 for the Suna, sounds like teathing problems like computer software (M/S Windows) that the consumers find the problems for the company's to rectify, and pay for the priviledge.

Had a Navman S35 and after I had the channel for two months it stuffed the device. The alerts were never right and they claimed it was the processing speed of the device. I checked one day and a traffic event I witnessed first hand took about 3 hours to register.
My new MY 55 T from Navman has Suna built it - and it actually worked first time, which surprised me. Apparently, this new series has the functionality built into the device, and I was warned of traffic snarls a few kilometres ahead...
I'm not sure about other manufacturers devices...best to do some online research before you buy.
I purchased the SUNA cable for my Nuvi 760 and I find it most helpful when travelling to Sydney.
SUNA states that their system is now operational in Canberra.
I would be interested to know if anyone has actually experienced any notifications in the Canberra area, as to date I have not received any notifications, even when traffic congestion is really bad.
