There are some good voices for garmin but there don't seem to be many with spoken street names. Does anyone know of any?

Dr Nightmare does it for me because his voice is strong and loud... much clear than others...

Will I be able to use the voice studio to alert me me when I'm approaching the toll plaza/gate together with its applicable fee?

How do I change the wording / voice? I don't want it to say - "Perform a U-Turn". I want it to say - "wrong way dummy" or something in that manner

Thought these were great additions to the Garmin. Have not tried any yet but downloaded them with extra vehicles from the Garmin site. They also have software to allow you to record your own voice (voices)

Have tried using own voices but nowhere near as clear as the voices supplied by Garmin

There is supposed to be a voice of GLaDOS from the game Portal. Has anyone seen that?

Will the free voices work on a nuvi 50??
I've only had the thing 3 days and Karen's voice is already getting my nerves.

Cheers.

I rarely use the Voices.
I generally set the volume at zero unless transiting an unknown area.
Too distracting otherwise.
My preference would be that the programmers allow user variation..for e.g. a choice for a once only voice announcement or a voice for all notifications or only selected e.g. school zone ahead warnings.
Red lights are pretty obvious but a school zone can sometimes catch you by suprise.

How to install Garmin Nuvi voices:

1. Connect your Garmin
2. Find the "Garmin/Voice" folder on the Garmin GPS drive.
3. Save the voice to that folder.
4. Unplug the USB cable from your Garmin GPS device.

am i missing something?
ok, i have downloaded the extra voices, dr ... yeti.
i copied them to the folder mentioned above.
however, my garmin doesn't see the extra voices.
while i was copying them, i did notice that the files i had downloaded were some sort of compression file (my windows says "compression" but doesn't offer a program to handle them).

do the downloaded files need to be "un-zipped" before copying them to the garmin?
