I have a Garmin Nuvi 255w. I have been booked for speeding twice recently, and it's costing me. Both times I was in areas not covered by the GPS speed alerts. I have been looking at other limiting devices, but they are very expensive. (around $300).
Is there a program or way to set my own speed limit and have the GPS warn me when I go over. Modern cars are so quiet and comfortable... yeah, I know it's my own fault!
Can anyone please advise me if there is anything available, or being developed? Could be a winner!!!
Thanks,
Tony
I just bought a Garmin Nuvi 255WT (same model but comes with Traffic feature). Sad to say, it doesn't look like it has a speed alert. I hope it's something that's coming in a future patch.

hmmm...if it supports POIs with warnings, than it should support speed cameras warnings - it's just a particular kind of POI
Hi,
Further to controlling and alerting speed with GPS: Has anyone heard of the some sort of GPS speed limiter or do-it-yourself program for programming a GPS.
Anyone had any experience or comment to make?
Thanks,
Tony
