What are the best navigation programs for Android and iOS?
Which is more responsive and accurate?
How does stock navigation work?
Maybe someone has experience with Nokia 920 navigation?

For Android I like Navigon or use the google navigation, both of them work great although google navigation isn't yet available in all countries.
Don't know about iOS anything else other than apple navigation isn't really good because it was just released and still needs time to make it better.
Nokia Lumia 920 has a great stock navigation! Works fast and good.

I have tested most for Android, and decided to run TomTom on my HTC One X

Standalone capabilities are very important. AGPS may not work when out of cellular range. Make sure your model has standalone feature.

I don't think that's OS issue. Mostly I will chose Andorid for its BIG SCREEN.

The key point should be the navigation application, not just OS issue.

I agree. It is all to do with the app. Some are cross platform, but many are either IOS or Android.

You have to choose which app performs to your needs under the OS you are using. I happen to use Android, so have found Navigon by Garmin works best for me.

Its a strange question unless you are still considering buying a phone.

I have gone for Android on principle of a more open system, more hardware choice and more features. Android is a multitasking system so you can do many things at once.

I chose a Galaxy Note 2 because I think a large screen is important for maps and it needs a phone function for roaming. I hardly use it for voice calls, but since a tablet does not have 2g 3g or 4g then it is stuck with WIFI and that is not generally public in NZ.

I have tried several apps for navigation and they are all substandard compared to a Garmin, but they can improve. My current best one is called Maverick.

Android provides more flexibility with tracking location because you can enable/disable different types of location tracking (i.e. whether you want to track using gps/satellite only, cell tower triangulation only, or both). This is handy when inside different types of locations (i.e. inside a building where satellite is less reliable vs in a city on the road). However, I personally prefer iOS devices. I feel like they are more reliable across the board.

IOS, seems to be a lot more stable than android.

With android the gps is all over the place and to fix that problem you need to download custom roms, you don't have to go through that hurdle with IOS.
