Either just use your postcode as your home address without a house number, or use the address of a local shopping centre etc. Then if it is stolen they can't find your house but the satnav will direct you back to somewhere you can find your way back from.

Thank you so much for the tips!!!

I've never even given a second thought to having the home address in the GPS. How silly. Having a location close to home as the thing to aim for is a great idea.

Thank you so much.

The best home address to have in the GPS is the address of your local police station !

An easier solution is to use a mobile phone. It is pointless for the thieves to target mobile phone brackets, as the phones are never stored in the cars.

Mobile phones not in the same class as a dedicated GPS and more costly to use.

My sat nav was stolen from my girlfriends work. Does anyone think its worth reporting it to the police? I dont think its covered by any insurance so is there rae other reason to report it other than getting a crime number?

Always report any theft or damage big or small. The police can't analyse hotspots and trends to resource patrols if we don't report it.

Just a bit of advice, don't leave your TomTom in the car, and don't programme your home address in, add it to your favourites under your own or partners name.

Put in a completely different address somewhere near home. You know the way from there. Cool
