At my wits end here. A while back i bought a double din kenwood head unit (DDX5015BT) believing it had a GPS module internally. Unfortunately, i didn't do the research as it was 50% off and he had one left. The salesman said you can use navigation with it and I didn't enquire further.
After installing it, i soon realised that it required an external GPS module (made by garmin) to enable GPS. Or, have an iPhone and screen share (I don't use iPhones).
So I am hoping you may be able to help me find a solution to this. Garmin have since discontinued the GPS module. Do you think I could use another brand? Or one from overseas and load Aussi maps? Would any type of GPS module work? I have a link below of the garmin GPS.
Thanks heaps guys, silly error on my part but one I am having difficulty solving!
I am in the same position, just bought the exact same device as a ex display unit. I looked at the back of the unit and it has a input for a GPS device, not knowing anymore about the unit and giving it was reduced so heavily I bought it. I have since discovered that I need a Garmin KNA-G620T or KNA-G630 Navigation unit and after researching a bit further costs around $800. Does any one know of a compatible GPS unit that will suit the Kenwood DDX5015BT head unit.
