I have an Garmin 1490, and a strong suspicion that the microSD card slot is broken.
I have two microSD cards (8GB and 32GB), both of which are recognised by windows when i connect them directly to my laptop using a microSD to SD adaptor and card reader.
However, when I put them into my nuvi, the nuvi doesn't recognise the card. Also, when I connect my nuvi to my laptop via USB, I see the nuvi recognised by Windows as a drive ("GARMIN"), but the SD card does not appear as a second removeable drive.
Other people with SD card issues at least seem to be ok with Windows see the card when plugged via the nuvi, but I don't even have this.
Any ideas? Am I correct that the card slot in my nuvi is probably broken?
